IL 29 GIUGNO 2012 è NATA…

È nata l’associazione “in&out of the ghetto”, un’organizzazione non governativa zambiana non profit, che opererà nel compound di Bauleni e sosterrà progetti legati a interventi educativi rivolti ai giovani perché possano essere i protagonisti attivi dello sviluppo della comunità in cui vivono. Il nostro approccio è la chiave del nostro agire, con e dentro la comunità, per condividere il più possibile, per conoscere la vita reale di una comunità e per entrare nelle storia della gente.

“in&out of the ghetto” vive nel compound di Bauleni “in” e non fuori, per cercare di creare vie che portino fuori dal ghetto “out”, inteso, non solo come posto fisico, ma come forma mentis, come stigma sociale. Il ghetto prima di essere un luogo di segregazione è una schiavitù mentale che annulla le speranze e vieta la bellezza del futuro.

“in & out of the ghetto” is born! It’s a Zambian non-governmental and non-profit organization that will operate in the compound of Bauleni and support projects for the empowerment of the youth so that they can be active participants in the development of the communities in which they live . Our approach is the key to our work with and within the community, to share as much as possible, to know the real life of the community and to enter into the stories of the people.

“In & out of the ghetto” is in the compound “in” and not outside, to try to create ways that lead out of the ghetto “out“, meaning, not only as a physical place, but as a mind-set, as social stigma. The first place of segregation,  the first ghetto is in the mind, a kind of mental slavery that kills hope and prohibits the beauty of the future.
